Didn't we had someone defining a proper Remote executor using SOAP?
Wouldn't that be more rubust?

Maybe we can take the command ideas from here, but use that other
infrastructure for the implementation. On the other hand, it may be
that SOAP is too much of a monster for what it is needed.
