They are put in a jar if you build Xalan2.  Xalan2 is in the java
subdirectory.

Conor - I'd like to take this one.  in particular, I would like to create a
new liaison for TRaX so people can continue to use Xalan1.

I plan to commit this change today or tomorrow.
