By the same file I assume you mean the source file has the same datestamp 
and same size as the destination file.  Is that sufficient to determine if 
a file is identical?  Personally, for this system I'd say yes.  What are 
the odds you are going to have two files of the same name, same size, same 
datestamp, but have different content.

Any objections?

One more request - could you detect if files copied over are same file and
if so ignore it (with a verbose-level warning perhaps ??)
