I'm not a committer, so it's not up to me to say what ant SHOULD
be compatible with.  But I've been building and running ant,
as well as a number of the Jakarta projects on JDK 1.1 pretty
regularly.  Until Java 2 becomes universal (or at least runs
on all the boxes I care about), I'd be disappointed if 1.1
support were dropped.
