I have realised since I sent this that doing a dependency check for an rmic
task is not entirely trivial. I will take a look at the task and see if I
can come up with a workable patch.

Yep. Your right. It's was a quicky hack to do something I needed it to do.
The file that performs it is in org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Rmic (I think
as I'm typing from memory and offline)
