Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-15996) Quick Links missing hostnames when using EC2 internal addresses
Date Wed, 20 Apr 2016 18:53:25 GMT
Josh Mahonin created AMBARI-15996:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Quick Links missing hostnames when using EC2 internal addresses
                 Key: AMBARI-15996
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-15996
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.2.1.1
         Environment: HDP 2.3.4
            Reporter: Josh Mahonin
            Priority: Minor

On an EC2 cluster, provisioned using EC2 internal hostnames, the various 'Quick Links', e.g.
HBase, Storm, Spark are missing their hostnames in the URLs.

e.g., HBase Master UI link is to 'http://:16010/master-status', NameNode UI Link is to 'http://:50070'.

The net effect is clicking on the link just opens a blank page.

Even if the link was correct, it would be an unresolvable hostname, but that can be worked
around using /etc/hosts. Unless there's some other provision to get the external hostname.
