Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-12479) Ambari Setup with Remote PostgreSQL database
Date Tue, 21 Jul 2015 15:44:05 GMT
Scott Edwards created AMBARI-12479:
--------------------------------------

Summary: Ambari Setup with Remote PostgreSQL database
                 Key: AMBARI-12479
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-12479
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Documentation
          Components: ambari-server
    Affects Versions: 2.0.1
         Environment: CentOS, PostgreSQL 9.3
            Reporter: Scott Edwards

8. Using Non-Default Databases
8.1. Using Non-Default Databases - Ambari
8.1.3. Using Ambari with PostgreSQL
http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.0.1.0/bk_ambari_reference_guide/content/_using_ambari_with_postgresql.html

These instructions do not provide adequate information to preform the task they indicate;
connecting to a non-default database. They simply allow you to customize the username and
password to the default Ambari-Installed PostgreSQL database.

For Example, I want to connect to a remote PostgreSQL database.
Steps 1 through 2 provide you information necessary to setup a remote PostgreSQL database.
But there is nothing beyond that to help you connect to a remote PostgreSQL database.
