Subject [jira] [Updated] (AMBARI-8717) Ambari security setup wizard ignores principal names and keytab files specified
Date Mon, 15 Dec 2014 17:06:14 GMT

Steve Loughran updated AMBARI-8717:
    Attachment: host-principal-keytab-list.csv
                Screen Shot 2014-12-15 at 17.00.11.png
                Screen Shot 2014-12-15 at 16.59.57.png
                Screen Shot 2014-12-15 at 16.46.55.png
                Screen Shot 2014-12-15 at 16.46.35.png

I am attaching
# screenshots showing wizard configuration; using principal "hdfs" for all HDFS services;
"yarn" for all the YARN services.
# the generated principal keytab list, showing the settings were correctly processed.
# the screenshots showing that the reason the security failed to take is that the customisations
apparently got lost.

> I'm going to demonstrate this with screenshots & the hosts.csv file, but the key
point is: if you try to configure the principal names or keytab names for specific services
in the security setup, these settings will not be propagated to the application configurations.
> As a result, security does not work: your cluster lacks the keytabs and principals expected
