Hi [~mahadev] and [~u39kun],

I attached a new patch with unit tests. 
One issue could be with this implementation and with the original one that, if the user provides
a custom public_hostname_script it's result will be overwritten by the aws public hostname
resolution for example if the client is launched on aws. 
The other one is that the UI shows this on hosts page in which case of gcc it's the IP. But
other than this 2 things it works perfectly.
