Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-6923) Views: add property to know if the view instance is xml defined or not
Date Tue, 19 Aug 2014 20:11:18 GMT
Siddharth Wagle created AMBARI-6923:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Views: add property to know if the view instance is xml defined or not
                 Key: AMBARI-6923
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-6923
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: controller
    Affects Versions: 1.7.0
            Reporter: Siddharth Wagle
            Assignee: Siddharth Wagle
             Fix For: 1.7.0

/api/v1/views/ADMIN_VIEW/versions/1.0.0/

If a view instance is defined in the XML (i.e. a "static view instance"), that means we cannot
modify the display label, or visible flag (among other things).

We should expose a property in the API with the ViewInstanceInfo to know if "is_xml = true/false"
so that we can use that in the Admin UI to disable the fields that are not editable. We can
then also put an icon next to the instances that are static.
