Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-6479) Add Services can cause service start failure due to not trimming extra spaces in log4j property configs
Date Mon, 14 Jul 2014 17:58:04 GMT
Yusaku Sako created AMBARI-6479:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Add Services can cause service start failure due to not trimming extra
spaces in log4j property configs
                 Key: AMBARI-6479
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-6479
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: client
    Affects Versions: 1.6.1
            Reporter: Yusaku Sako
            Assignee: Yusaku Sako
            Priority: Blocker
             Fix For: 1.6.1

Steps to reproduce:
1) Deploy a cluster without some service (in this case - without Storm)
2) Go to Add Service Wizard and choose to add Storm
3) On'Customize Services page, add a custom property to core-site.xml section (service - HDFS)

4) Go to Review page and then click Back (returning to Customize Services page).
5) Click Next again and start Storm installation
6) On Services page, check log4j.properties field for HDFS, YARN and Hive.

*Expected result:* field 'log4j.properties' is not changed
*Actual result:* for value in field log4j.properties, trailing newline and spaces were added
(as specified in the stack definition). This blocks restart operation for the services mentioned
above.
