Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-1980) When nagios is unavailable, return null instead of throwing an Exception
Date Thu, 18 Apr 2013 21:14:14 GMT
Nate Cole created AMBARI-1980:
---------------------------------

Summary: When nagios is unavailable, return null instead of throwing an Exception
                 Key: AMBARI-1980
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1980
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 1.3.0
            Reporter: Nate Cole
            Assignee: Nate Cole
             Fix For: 1.3.0

NAGIOS_SERVER alerts are retrieved from the nagios server when requesting the host_component.
There is a {{SystemException}} thrown in the case of an {{IOException}}, which propagates
as a 500 error for the entire request.

In this case, set the nagios_alerts element to {{null}} instead of the 500 error.
