sandeepbaldawa created AMBARI-1832:
--------------------------------------

Summary: postgresql seems not be installed correctly in Dev environment
                 Key: AMBARI-1832
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1832
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Bug
         Environment: In document https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Ambari+Development
after installing ambari-server(using yum install <rpm>)

postgresql is not being installed or maybe not being installed correctly, "service postgresql
status" returns unrecognised service

Workaround for the same, was doing the steps below
Manually install postgresql using the following commands
yum list post*
yum install postgresql84.x86_64
yum install postgresql84-server.x86_64
service postgresql initdb
service postgresql start
ln -s /var/lib/pgsql/8.4/data/ /var/lib/pgsql/data
            Reporter: sandeepbaldawa
            Priority: Critical
