Subject [jira] [Created] (AIRFLOW-5760) SubDagOperator should not access the database in its `__init__` method.

Nicolas created AIRFLOW-5760:
--------------------------------

             Summary: SubDagOperator should not access the database in its `__init__` method.
                 Key: AIRFLOW-5760
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AIRFLOW-5760
             Project: Apache Airflow
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: operators
    Affects Versions: 1.10.5
         Environment: Linux Ubuntu / Debian.
            Reporter: Nicolas

The SubDagOperator tries to access the database in its initializer, when given a pool as an
argument. In some circumstances the database may not be ready:
 * The given pool does not exists;
 * The table slot_pool table does not exists (e.g. when doing a reset DB);

The consequence is that the scheduler crashes.

Maybe the check for slot availability should be moved to the {{execute()}} method and not
done within the initializer.
