Hi, Thank you for all the great insightful comments. I very liked and agree with all the points you mention above. 
* If we can get a logo which is not just a elephant but also illustrate the "Airavata", I am all for it. 
* I also agree about leaving the word and logo distinct. I am not artistic about words and have no opinions on the case. 
* My only worry with upper case is it depicts an acronym which we don't have - may be some creative genius can think of an acronym . To motivate, here is an example - Eucalyptus - Elastic Utility Computing Architecture for Linking Your Programs To Useful Systems :)
* My insistence on not having gateway is also not a strong feeling. If we have a neutral one which doesn't mean anything that might be better. But if we everything else falls in place and it only depicts Gateway concept, thats all fine too.

Lets keep these thoughts coming and converge on a logo and new website no later than ApacheCon which is in just over a month
