So you are saying it is DB2 Driver issue? But I can't move away from DB2.

Has anyone tried clustering/failover protocol using Activemq configured with DB2?

this could be due to the locking mechanism which is implemented in Active MQ.
In MySQL I had simiilar problems, which could be solved switching the MySQL engine to Inno
