Subject Re: Understanding various ids in ActiveMQ advisory messages.

Generated by IdGenerator.java so as to be unique.

Code:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/activemq/trunk/activemq-core/src/main/java/org/apache/activemq/util/IdGenerator.java

>From the code:

this.seed = prefix + UNIQUE_STUB + (instanceCount++) + ":";

Follow the "stub" back in the code to see how it works:

 stub = "-" + ss.getLocalPort() + "-" + System.currentTimeMillis() + "-";

Need something like http://www.epochconverter.com/ if you are interested in
converting the time bit.

So 1872-1318836037364-0:0
would have been created by reading a clock equivalent to Mon, 17 Oct 2011
07:20:37 GMT

All the best,
Mick Hayes.
