Subject Getting negative number of pending messages
Date Thu, 19 Feb 2009 18:25:37 GMT

I'm using a large number of consumers (>20) for a single queue in my
application, and at times of high volume it appears somehow that the number
of pending messages count goes negative, and the messages received number is
higher than the messages sent number. Which obviously explains the negative
count, but why/how would the messages received exceed the messages sent?

I'm on v5.1, and in the IRC channel I was told this most likely is fixed in
the trunk or 5.3 snapshot. However, I need to convince my Sysadmin to
upgrade. Anyone know the bug report that matches my problem? I found
http://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/AMQ-1940, but I am not clearing the
purging a queue, it just simply happens during normal processing.

Thanks!
