Subject No such device exception from Java at startup

I just downloaded and extracted ActiveMQ.  On trying to start it up I'm
receiving a "No such device" exception from Java, it looks like when it's
trying to join the multicast group.  Being a Linux noob, any advice on why
this might be happening would be greatly appreciated.  

The log is as follows:
