I don't think there is recovery (I joined the activemq.xml : 
http://www.nabble.com/file/p11703785/activemq.xml activemq.xml  )
The log level is this one : log4j.rootLogger=DEBUG, out, stdout (as
recommanded in the log4j.properties for activeMQ team debugging ;) )
I'm using ActiveMQ 4.1.0-incubator.
Deleting the index-* files ActiveMQ restarts normally but I don't understand
how this files get corrupted. We are using activeMQ on 8 different servers
and they randomly get corrupted whitout any obvious reason that's a big
problem for us.
