Under the covers we're using Spring so you should be able to use a
Spring BeanPostProcessor to resolve any properties you like - e.g. add
this to the top of your file inside <beans>

  <bean class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer"/>
