Subject [jira] [Commented] (ARTEMIS-573) Please document the selector support
Date Wed, 13 Jul 2016 21:01:20 GMT

Justin Bertram commented on ARTEMIS-573:

I sent a PR with documentation updates and a few extra Stomp tests. The documentation explains
(and the new tests demonstrate) how to use hyphenated property names in a filter/selector
(hint: it requires the {{hyphenated_props:}} prefix).

To be clear, Hiram Chirino ported over Apollo's selector code to HornetQ before the code-base
was donated to Apache (via commits [25df4699837ae4ac8226ab0e61e1ebdeb8216658|]
and [ffc37f520930077207f11df555bf938bb68cf910|])
so it should behave the same as Apollo's.

> SQL-like selectors used in subscriptions seem to be supported but they are not documented.
They are mentioned in several pages (including the "Examples") page but not really documented.
> Idem for their STOMP support. Looking at the code I found out that a {{selector}} header
can be used in a {{SUBSCRIBE}} frame.
> It is very important to document the syntax supported by Artemis. From memory, a selector
like "foo-bar = 1" is supported in Apollo but not in ActiveMQ 5.x. My tests indicate that
Artemis does not support it either but, the syntax being undocumented, I don't know if this
is a bug or a feature...
