Andreas Gies reopened AMQ-2376:
-------------------------------

Hi Rob,

I am reopening because I had another use case in mind:

Imagine network of brokers where I dynamically add brokers for scalability. To take advantage
of newly added brokers I must refresh my connections once in a while.
With the idle timeout, the connections would be refreshed only if the connection was really
idle for the given timeout. I would like to see another parameter to specify
the maximum lifetime of a connection regardless if the connection is being used or not, so
that I give newly added brokers the chance to carry their share of the
message load.

Thanks and best regards
Andreas

> It might make sense to restrict the lifetime of connections in a connection pool, so
that once in a while the connection is refreshed providing a chance of connection load balancing
over a network of brokers.
