The scenario you describe works on my local activemq.

However when I try to validate on our deployed activemq here, that also has authentication
on jmx, I fail to specify the username and password.

Previously (on 5.2.0) I used: -Dwebconsole.jmx.role=username -Dwebconsole.jmx.password=password
Apparently in 5.3.0 it is changed to: -Dwebconsole.jmx.user=username -Dwebconsole.jmx.password=password

But still I fail to login.
