Subject [jira] Commented: (AMQ-2106) Allow broker to evenly distribute message groups among consumers
Date Thu, 16 Apr 2009 15:50:32 GMT

Luis Rojas commented on AMQ-2106:

Any possible date for starting working on this? I consider it quite important, because without
it the redundancy provided by the use of Message Groups is partially broken. Whenever a consumer
crashes, its message groups are reassigned, but when this consumer comes back online it will
never again receive any message. The only way to fix this is to restart ActiveMQ whenever
a consumer restarts!

> Currently the broker will not reassign message groups if new consumers becomes available
(or existing ones are removed). We could allow the broker to try reassign the message groups
when consumers are added/removed so that we have a even distribution among consumers.
