Timothy,

Your patch differs from my working copy only in "if (buffer) delete [] buffer, buffer = NULL",
i.e. in the freeing of the buffer during destruction. I wonder how will this prevent other
threads (recv) from writing into an already unallocated memory (which is, if I understood
you well, what seems to be going on)...
