I neglected to mention that I'm running a virtual environment and I had port 9997 open and forwarded. This is a single node setup and I had localhost in my slaves file. Localhost is what the "host" in this virtual setup is using. My "guest" ip is a 10.* address. I added this 10.* to the slaves file in lieu of localhost and voila! Christopher,

Thanks for maki= ng me think about my slaves file.

I neglected to mentio= n that I'm running a virtual environment and =C2=A0I had port 9997 open= and forwarded. =C2=A0This is a single node setup and I had localhost in my= slaves file. =C2=A0Localhost is what the "host" in this virtual = setup is using. My "guest" ip is a 10.* address. =C2=A0I added th= is 10.* to the slaves file in lieu of localhost and voila! =C2=A0=C2=A0

All,

I am getting a "connection re= fused" when trying to connect to Accumulo remotely. =C2=A0Everything w= orks when the connection attempt is local. =C2=A0I can remotely connect usi= ng the zkCli, which shows my accumlo instance is there. =C2=A0I can connect= locally of course with the shell.

I get an IOException that says connection refused at th= e following line:

TTimeoutTransport...

48> socket.connect(addr);

where=C2=A0addr=3D/127.0.0.1:= 9997

I have ports 2181, 9000=C2=A0opened up to the outside, and both show a listener.= =C2=A0I am not aware that port 9997 should be opened as well.

It appears to be looping calling= the aforementioned line of code repeatedly. =C2=A0

How can I troubleshoot this?

Thanks
