Actually after a second look, it doesn't  seem like my NameNode started
because when I ran `$HADOOP_HOME/bin/stop-all.sh`, I get:

localhost: stopping tasktracker
no namenode to stop
localhost: stopping datanode
localhost: stopping secondarynamenode


As you can see, when I stop Hadoop it says "no name node to stop."
