I would also like to +1 this. I don't know of the repercussions, but currently this can cause
threads that are impossible to interrupt out, which is infuriating. There need to be means
for clients to interrupt out their threads.

 This seems like a good thing to do, it allows code that does not want to deal with the interrupt
to pass it on.  The question is, does doing this cause new bugs?
