Okay. With respect to this issue, I did look at using {{tee -a}}, which I think will work,
but it'd still need some log rotation bits. If ACCUMULO-2372 compromise (retain current files
and also go to logger) works out, doing append+log rotation, or just continuing to clobber,
would both be viable options (since the log history could be viewed elsewhere).

This makes it more difficult to debug failures if you have something like puppet or supervisord
ensuring that your processes are always running. We should figure out how to roll the files
