To do this properly, it looks like it would be worthwhile to finally decouple the SSH logic
from the business logic of the scripts. For example, start-server.sh can compute the proper
arguments to pass in, but should pass those arguments to a single other script that we can
execute locally or remotely.

This will help prevent the number of SSH calls we make to run a remote command.

This makes it more difficult to debug failures if you have something like puppet or supervisord
ensuring that your processes are always running. We should figure out how to roll the files
instead.
