I'm not sure I'm a big fan of trying to change kernel parameters in our start scripts (nor
sure how it would work as I assume you need root privileges). Wouldn't something like this
be better served in a "System Configuration" section of the user manual which could also include
things like disabling transparent huge pages, reducing swappiness, etc?
