Despite this being more or less abandoned, HBase does this by default for their test cluster
code. When debugging HBase unit tests, the ability for the debugger to go from client code
into server code is *super* nice and makes things really easy.

I don't know what else it would take after making all of the JVM halts optional (or deleted
completely?), but I do think there's some merit in making it work. I am, however, not actively
working on it, so unassigning.
