11:19 <@busbey> I thought we had all agreed that OS X was a dev only platform
11:19 <@busbey> and we were going to allow deployment things use stuff that wouldn't
work there
11:19 <@busbey> I think it was hostname that this came up with on dev@accumulo?
11:20 <@elserj> I'm pretty sure I need configs to do development
11:20 <@busbey> did we get rid of the example configs?
11:20 <@busbey> does MAC need configs?
11:20 <@elserj> you should follow up on the tickets :)
11:20 <@elserj> yes, the examples were removed

Are configs needed to do development? is MAC sufficient?

There was talk about moving to python. Could we rename to bootstrap_config so that the implementation
is hidden from end users?

> Discovered while working on ACCUMULO-2646, bootstrap_config.sh's command line options
don't work without GNU getopt. This means that this script doesn't work on OS X or BSD systems
without modification.
> The bootstrap_config.sh script should be modified to detect the OS and fall back to a
compatible argument parsing when not in Linux. The long opts should be preserved in Linux,
since these were available in Accumulo 1.6.0.
