Keith Turner commented on ACCUMULO-2933:

bq. If the intention is to run performance tests to compare releases

These comments, ACCUMULO-2368, and ACCUMULO-2766 have me desiring a test suite that times
many different Accumulo operations. It would be so nice to have this inorder to detect to
detect regressions. Accumulo has a lot of test for ensuring various operations are correct,
but not much in the way of performance. Could time operations like the following and produce
a report that could be compared w/ reports from other releases.

 * time creating tables
 * time deleting tables (w/ data, w/o data, w/ data in memory, w/ compactions running, w/
scans running)
 * time splitting (empty table, table w/ files)
 * time merging
 * time cloning (empty table, table w/ files)
 * time exporting a table
 * time importing a table
 * time bulk import
 * time group commit
 * etc

> Not sure what this would necessarily look like, but It might be good to allow continuous
ingest to write multiple columns to the same row. The number of columns would, ideally, be
configurable.
> This was inspired by the discussion around ACCUMULO-2827.
