Andrew George Wells commented on ACCUMULO-2851:
-----------------------------------------------

So, i realize looking at the code, (and I was using miniAccumulo), i missed a step, that currently
one would have to copy the data to hadoop first, then do the import. So for now, I would say
that if we delete or move is a hard argument. (thanks for making me think billie)

However, should we ever allow a importing/exporting with remote data sources (which would
be awesome), the default should most definitely be to not delete. But that would be another
ticket entirely.

Providing the option would still be great however, and would be greatly appreciated.

> When Importing a table, the code calls rename, which moves the file away. I feel that
this is incorrect and the code should copy, not move.
> The reasoning, is that the files are provided by the user and not managed by Accumulo,
and therefore Accumulo should have maintain the integrity of the files.
