Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-2432) MAC should have an option for creating it's own ssl certs
Date Wed, 18 Jun 2014 19:50:25 GMT

Josh Elser commented on ACCUMULO-2432:

bq. it seems like this would lead down the path of also letting the user configure these type
of things

That's kicking the can down the road a little bit, but it does result in the same outcome.
I, as a user, would like to run a test against MAC which is using SSL. I want to make sure
things work. I don't care the degree in which my security is valid because it is only a test
not a production environment. If I, as the user, get there by flipping some bit in the MiniAccumuloConfig,
that's the same net result as some class that I can specify that uses some "InsecureKeyGeneration"
class (or whatever necessary flavors are necessary).

> Currently ssl certs must be generated prior to starting mac, and passed in. We should
find a way to make that as seamless as possible.
