Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-2820:
---------------------------------------------

One can fairly easily enumerate the users and getauths. The problem with simply dumping is
that it assumes you're using the provided authenticator, and that's now pluggable (see ACCUMULO-259),
and may not be restoreable in the same way, if it's managed by a separate implementation.

> Key: ACCUMULO-2820
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-2820
> Project: Accumulo
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: shell
> Affects Versions: 1.6.0
> Reporter: Drew Farris
> Priority: Minor

> ACCUMULO-1398 added the ability to dump configurations, ACCUMULO-1715 added the ability
to dump user permissions on tables.
> There does not appear to be a way to include the configured user auths in this dump output,
which would be useful in preserving the entire state of an accumulo instance.
> Perhaps this could also include the ability dump the shell commands necessary to re-create
the users if they do not already exist.
