I like the idea of using a prefix (see [1]) instead of full URL. If there were a mapping of
prefix to namenode address in the configuration, would that make rename operations simpler?
It's like viewfs to some degree, but I think it allows greater flexibility in the long run
as viewfs is limited to directories. In another release when we have a pluggable file placement
strategy, then we could add weights or priority to the different prefixes.
