Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-1796) packaging for multiple supported Hadoops
Date Thu, 05 Dec 2013 19:27:35 GMT

Bill Havanki commented on ACCUMULO-1796:

Tests under Hadoop 1.0.4 went without a hitch.

I'm fine with either option #2 or #3. #3 is more work for users who want to use Hadoop 2.2.0
since they have to build, but it is more straightforward than option #2 where users have to
pick a distro and could get it wrong. (We could always offer the other binaries in unofficial
channels, I suppose. Option #2-and-a-half.)

Talking with Sean, he brought up that #2 also affects how we deploy artifacts to Maven - how
many, what classifiers do they need, etc. #3 is easy, just as usual.

If we decide on #3 for now, I'll just check the build docs to ensure accuracy for 2.2.0 builds.
