I'm not sure I see the value of creating packages for a specific environment when we can create generic packages for generic environments, and provide ways to easily configure that environment. I'm not sure it makes much sense to manipulate modify our build profiles for users to rebuild. If anything, it'd be better to create an entirely separate project, which pulls in all the relevant accumulo dependencies, and repackages, with the desired configuration, if a user wished to do that. > Create distribution profiles > ---------------------------- > > Key: ACCUMULO-199 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-199 > Project: Accumulo > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: build > Reporter: John Vines > Labels: distribution, mvn > > I've already started this, but the intent is to have the ability to configure your cluster and then run mvn package -Pdist to create the appropriate rpm/tgz which includes your config files and compiled native in memory maps. Part of this hinges in ACCUMULO-198 which fixes rpms. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.1#6144)
