Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-1804) Integrate RStudio to work with data residing in Accumulo
Date Fri, 25 Oct 2013 18:16:31 GMT

Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-1804:

If we *were* to add this as a contrib, there's some things that would need to improve: minimally,
license headers, LICENSE/NOTICE/README files... build instructions.

However, I'd be concerned about who is going to maintain this. Additionally, this package
has a dependency on R, which is GPL licensed. So, I don't think we can accept this contribution
as part of Accumulo itself.

One thing we can do (and I think we should), though, is add a section to the website to link
to it as a related project on GitHub or something.

> Need to be able to support users who utilize RStudio to conduct analysis of data residing
in the Accumulo data space instead of moving data from one repository to a stand alone system
to have the analytic run in memory. RStudio should be able to make calls directly to the
data space and provide the output within the RStudio interface.
