Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-1419:
---------------------------------------------

FYI, Hadoop 2.0.5 is currently in Fedora rawhide, getting ready for f20 release. Whatever
we do with this ticket, let's keep that in mind, as I don't want to cut off a large potential
user base by implementing changes that cause Accumulo to work only with 2.1.x and newer and
not 2.0.5 (at least until there's a Fedora update from 2.0.5 to something newer).

> This is a proposed feature for 1.6.
> There's two ways we could do this:
> # Continue to support both hadoop1 and hadoop2, but switch the profiles, so hadoop2
is the default, and this is what we use to build binary artifacts for release voting.
> # Make hadoop2 required and get rid of the dependency profiles.
