Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-527) Shell should have way to specify instance name while using ZK hosts from configuration
Date Thu, 19 Sep 2013 20:03:52 GMT

Keith Turner commented on ACCUMULO-527:

[~bhavanki] I just pushed your commits and a commit of mine where I changed the unit test.
Can you take a look at that change? Thats the first time I have used PowerMock, its interesting,
seems to tightly couple the test to the implementation rather than the expected behavior.
Does anyone have any issue w/ adding the dependencies? I reasoned that since they were scoped
at the test level there was no need to seek consensus.

> Currently the shell uses HDFSZooInstance unless otherwise specified. It is possible for
a user to force a ZooInstance, in which case they specify a list of ZKHosts and the instance
name. However, there is no way to specify an instance name and utilize the list of ZK hosts
in the configuration file. We should look into expanding the shell to include this creation
option, possibly by segregating the zookeeper hosts and instance name into two seperate arguments.
