Corey J. Nolet commented on ACCUMULO-1335:
------------------------------------------

bq. Was there a specific reason for going straight to the tablet server?

I could have just written the entire test in TableOperationsIT but it seemed reasonable to
test the thrift service separately- just in case something small changes in that layer, it
would be easier to isolate any problems that way.

bq. retry on TTransportException, this indicates a I/O error

I should have looked these up. I'm still getting used to thrift. I figured anything that threw
an exception that's not an Accumulo-specific exception would warrant a retry- worst case is
the exception occurs on all tablet servers and then we decide we can't fulfill the request.
Probably not the most optimal approach.

> The du command that is available in the shell would be useful to have available in the
java API (e.g. through connector.instanceOperations() for example). It seems to be quite difficult
to recreate this value without the shell.
