Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-1321) Dynamic Classloader lost jars
Date Wed, 15 May 2013 18:07:16 GMT

Chris McCubbin commented on ACCUMULO-1321:

I have another potential data point for this issue.

Using rev. 1477382 I see the following behavior:

- jar file with custom iterators is in lib/ext/
- rm -rf that jar file
- mv another copy of the same jar file into lib/ext/ (this also probably happens with a different
build of the same jar)

-Accumulo cannot find classes confirmed to be present in the jar (monitor displays "Error
checking object types java.lang.ClassNotFoundException" and a stack trace)

-mv jar file out of lib/ext and back in, accumulo can now see class
-alternatively, rename jar file in lib/ext , accumulo can now see class

> We have a table setup that uses some custom iterators. We ran an MR job against it without
issues. We then ran the job immediately after the first one wrapped and 2 of my tservers errored
with ClassNotFoundException, even though it ran just fine before.
> Unfortunately we don't have a stack trace (to see if it was breaking differently in the
VFSClassLoader), nor a convenient way to recreate currently. We're working on reproducing
it in order to get more information.
