Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-1339) log4j jar is required to be in a specific place
Date Thu, 25 Apr 2013 02:26:16 GMT

Billie Rinaldi commented on ACCUMULO-1339:

It's possible it was only a problem because I was running hadoop out of its project directory?
If that's actually the case, I would be OK with just making a mental note of how to fix the
issue in case a user encounters it with some untested version of hadoop.

> We are no longer packaging log4j, and it needs to be on our classpath before the classloader
can read modifications to general.classpaths in the accumulo-site.xml file. Line 84 of the
accumulo script looks for the log4j in two possible hadoop subdirectories, but if it isn't
in either of those accumulo init will not run (thanks to [~vines] for tracking this down).

that the log4j jar must exist in one of those locations.
