Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-953) Deprecate the "setiter" and replace with "setiterator"
Date Thu, 31 Jan 2013 11:43:12 GMT

Keith Turner commented on ACCUMULO-953:

bq. It turns out that the "-agg" option was already marked as deprecated in the shell, via
a warning. It should be safe to scrub the "-agg" option from the shell without any other changes.
Seems like it would make sense to remove -agg when Aggregators are removed from the code.
I am not sure if we should do that for 1.5.

> Filters and Aggregators were deprecated in 1.4.x, replaced with regular filtering iterators
and combining iterators (Combiners). The shell did not indicate these are deprecated, and
the "setiter" command is aging quite poorly, with options for features that are deprecated.
It should be deprecated and replaced with a new command that is much simpler, and more intuitive.
