Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-953) Deprecate the "setiter" and replace with "setiterator"
Date Thu, 10 Jan 2013 21:48:13 GMT

Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-953:

Yes, we could, but I imagine it might be harder to deprecate only part of a command in a way
that the resulting help documentation will be easy to understand. I'm not sure I have a lot
of time to work on this issue for 1.5.0, though. So, if you have a good idea for how to achieve
this without replacing the command, [~billie.rinaldi], and want to do it, I'd welcome passing
it on to you.

> Filters and Aggregators were deprecated in 1.4.x, replaced with regular filtering iterators
and combining iterators (Combiners). The shell did not indicate these are deprecated, and
the "setiter" command is aging quite poorly, with options for features that are deprecated.
It should be deprecated and replaced with a new command that is much simpler, and more intuitive.
