Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-432) Symlinks to bin/accumulo don't work
Date Tue, 25 Sep 2012 17:46:07 GMT

John Vines commented on ACCUMULO-432:

I chalk up the majority of this ticket to my lack of understanding of jdeb. I plan on giving
the packaging as a whole more loving in the coming months, so expect improvements.

As for this ticket specifically, I do have a tested Bourne method for resolving links that
works on Darwin and ubuntu. I want to test it a bit more and then work on integrating it into
our scripts.

> jdeb, which we use for creating our debian files, automatically creates a symlink for
/usr/bin/accumulo. I was unable to find a way to configure this in jdeb. Granted, a symlink
to $ACCUMULO_HOME/bin/accumulo should be made to work, regardless of the state of our debian
